Snapshots. Frozen...

Very sunny morning today, walking around town and running last minute errands (aka King's day shopping + birthday presents). Couldn't resist buying some frozen yoghurt with blueberries and brownie... orgasmic.

Let there be light...

Happy New Year!
Well, its is over now. All the lunches, dinners, eve's, parties, cocktails, dressing up, stressing about presents, drinking way too much... But, in a way, I like it now; it is quieter. You can take time to have dinner with your friends and watch TV in the sofa until late late at night, go out for coffee and actually talk (there is not such thing as talking while clubbing; whoever says otherwhise is drunk or delusional). No more uncomfortable family dinners where your dress is too tight  because you've eaten too much and you have to make conversation with the uncle you haven't seen in years to fill the awkward silence. The joys of waking up the next day in your bed and not smell like alcohol or cigarettes with no blurred mascara and no compromising pictures up online... I have to say, nearly none of this things have happened to me during Christmas but I always hear them from other people and find them hilarious...
And there are the sales... 4 days my friends, I have been counting down basically since I got back home. I am hoping to find nice nice stuff to take back to cold London: I am thinking knitted cardigans (preferably men's), wool cape, original hat....

XOXO

P.D Here are the pictures of the Christmas lights from my hometown as promised. And a quote that I think appropiate after the New Year :)

"For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strenght to start all over again"

All I want for Xmas...

Hello!
It is Xmas time :D At last... I have been waiting for this moment for the last 2 months! During this term, specially on the busiest moments, all I could think about was coming back home to enjoy Christmas with my friends and family.
On Saturday, right after the plane landed, Asturias welcomed me with pouring rain (I wasn't expecting less); it feels nice to walk around your hometown and see that some things never change, that your favourite coffee shop is still there, the big christmas tree is up, the smell of roasted chestnuts, the feeling that you will bump into people that you know on the streets (something that never EVER happens in London)
Today, I thought I'd share some things that make my Christmas special and gifts I have wished for.... :)

XOXO

Late, late, late...

As I promised ages ago, I am now posting the pictures from my 19th Birthday party. It was nearly a month ago and now it seems like years away... We had an amazing day; actually, we had two amazing days. The night before the actual birthday, we went out for "a couple of drinks" and ended up home at 5 in the morning ( well, you only turn 19 once!). The next day, we had the lunch/dinner party at my house with crisps, nocilla (chocolate and hazelnut spread) sandwiches, pizza and, of course, homemade brownie cake (homemade by me which is strange because I was the birthday girl and I am supposed to be the one to get the cake made for!) Then came the presents :D A lovely mustard skirt with a brown t-shirt and two pieces of jewelery:  a ring (with a girl that looks like Little Red Riding Hood) and a bracelet with a robin. It was the perfect party that was also a bit like a goodbye party for me and the rest of the girls that were leaving to their correspondent universities; we talked about us, about politics, even had a little pillow fight!
Various pieces of cake later, they all left to get ready for the big night in Oviedo. I wasn't expecting anything mayor or special to happen then, during my birthday because honestly, you are always thinking that something unexpected will happen (just because it is your birthday) and it will make you remember it for the rest of your life but instead, you remember it because of the good moments you had with the people around you. That night, I got both of those; I had some unexpected, special moments that never thought would happen and I also remember the funny and great times I had with my friends. I think I couldn't have asked for more. And I miss them so much... Ohh, this is getting too cheesy and nostalgic so I am going straight for the photos. Enjoy!
Disfrutar!

XOXO
